Spring Cleaning Made Simple
Spring is here in Manchester, NH, and so is the perfect time to clean your Colonial Village apartment! Take this month as an opportunity for you to deep clean for a fresh apartment to relax in and upkeep. Try these tips to make the cleaning process easier for you this month.
Get Prepared to Clean
Before you begin cleaning, get the right cleaning supplies. In addition to a broom and paper towels, grab an all-purpose cleaning spray, garbage bags, glass cleaner, vacuum, duster, and a few bins (an empty laundry basket will do just fine). Molly Maid has put together a list of basic cleaning supplies that will help you keep your apartment in tip-top condition.
Use a laundry basket (or another container) and go through your apartment, gathering up all the things that are out of place and putting them in the basket. As you enter the room where each item belongs, put it away. Keep going until you’ve gathered all misplaced items and put them where they belong. If there is anything left in the basket at the end of your room-to-room quest, find a designated home for it or get rid of it.
Clean Room by Room
Choose a room to start with and do all the cleaning required for that room. We recommend starting with the bathroom or kitchen so you can get all the heavy cleaning and scrubbing out of the way first. By cleaning one room at a time you can avoid becoming stressed out or overwhelmed by everything that needs to be done. It is important to break down your tasks and give yourself plenty of time to accomplish each of those tasks. Be sure to reward yourself, too!
Create a Routine for the Future
Don’t forget that it’s okay that you can’t do it all at once. Create a routine that works for you so over time you can get and keep your apartment clean without having to go to extremes every six months. This spring cleaning checklist may help you stay on track.
